A* all round at the Toybox

A NURSERY has received top marks in every single section of its latest inspection.

Toybox Day Nursery, which is based in The Saxon Centre, Biggleswade, was graded as outstanding in each category of its Ofsted inspection, reflecting an remarkably high quality of provision.

The report says: “Exceptionally talented and committed staff mean the provision is outstanding in all aspects.

“Children make excellent progress and thoroughly enjoy their time in this safe and stimulating nursery.

“Strong and effective partnerships with parents and other providers mean children’s individual needs are very well met.”

Chris Townson, who owns Toybox alongside his wife, Jackie, was delighted with the result. He said: “The managers here were just so proud of what they did.

“The inspector was here for over eight hours – she was very thorough and went through everything we do.

“To get outstanding in every single area for a nursery this size is absolutely undreamt of. It was an amazing result for us.”

The report praised the attention to child safety and also stated that parents are extremely satisfied with the nursery.

It added: “Highly successful organisation of the resources enables children to make choices and be active, independent learners.

“The nursery environment is highly stimulating with bright and cheerful decorations throughout.

Children are very friendly and show warm friendships with adults and each other. They learn good sharing as they play games such as dominoes.

“Staff have high expectations and are excellent role models. They speak to children with affection and apply firm boundaries.

“Babies have their own routines so they are settled and content.”

The only suggested improvement was that the nursery could have more displays of the youngster’s work at child height.
