281 new coronavirus infections have been confirmed in Central Bedfordshire over the past 24 hours, according to figures from Public Health England.

The total number of cases in the district now stands at 10,047 (+281).

The case rate in Central Beds is now 643.7 per 100,000.

Elsewhere in the county, Luton 12,276 (+334) has cases while Bedford's figure is at 8,194 (+163).

There have been 2,957,472 lab-confirmed cases across the UK, up by a daily rise of 68,053.

79,833 deaths have been recorded within 28 days of a positive test, up by 1,325 today.

Under the current lockdown, you must not leave or be outside of your home except where necessary. You may leave the home to:

> Shop for basic necessities, for you or a vulnerable person
