Coronavirus latest: 282 new cases in Central Bedfordshire today

282 new coronavirus infections have been confirmed in Central Bedfordshire over the past 24 hours, according to figures from Public Health England.

The total number of cases in the district now stands at 11,545 (+282).

One new death (within 28 days of a positive test) have also been reported in Central Beds today, with 388 in total since the pandemic began

The case rate in Central Beds is now 523.1 per 100,000.

Elsewhere in the county, Luton has 14,023 (+296) cases while Bedford's figure is at 9,695 (+225).

There have been 3,316,019 lab-confirmed cases across the UK, up by a daily rise of 55,761.

87,295 deaths have been recorded within 28 days of a positive test, up by 1,280 today.
