Fundraising for Henry helps him get out and about

Manor Farm Day Nursery in Sandy has been fundraising for a little boy who attends the nursery to help him get a specialist buggy.

Henry Campbell has cerebral palsy. He has no independent mobility and needs specialist equipment support for most of his daily activities.

The buggy costs £3,395 and, other than the £763 offered from Statutory Services, the Campbell family have had to raise the money themselves.

Manor Farm Day Nursery and their sister Davidson Roberts nurseries have been raising money over the last few months by holding fun activities within the nurseries;  dressing up days, cakes sales, a summer fayre and also holding raffles with some amazing prizes donated locally. The amount raised across the Davidson Roberts group is over £1,526 and money is still coming in.

With this and other money raised on Henry’s Just Giving account the family were able to buy the buggy last week.

Fundraising will continue as Henry will always need specialist care and equipment, including Eyegaze Technology, which tracks eye movements and allows the user to progress from selecting between simple choices all the way up to conversational speech. It will also allow him to continue with his rehabilitation therapy.
