Art out of Ten display work at Sandy Conservative Club

Nonet sounds like an artist. Except in this case it describes a group of ten, and there are 10 artists displaying their work next month.

Art out of Ten is holding the exhibition at The Bowls Pavilion of Sandy Conservative Club between 10am and 4pm on Saturday April 2 and Sunday April 3.

There will also be a chance to meet the nonet of artists and see them with their work.

The ten artists met at weekly classes started and run by well known Sandy artist Jean Picton.

Her Sandy Art Group, of which the ten are members,has successfully exhibited at Jordans Mill, near Biggleswade, Art out of ten have since exhibited at St John’s Hospice Moggerhanger and Mamas coffee shop.

The group is also planjning another exhibition at the reading rooms Great Gransden, in August. Individual members have also shown their work locally.

Afternoon teas and homemade cakes will be available over the weekend.

A percentage of picture sales plus proceeds from the sale of refreshments will go to the hospice.

Member Sandra Inwood said “The members of our group all produce very colourful paintings in mixed media, watercolour and acrylics,working together as a cooperative they are able provide a professional exhibition at reasonable prices.”

Members of Art out of Ten are. Gill Longland, Barbara Murray,Sital Kumu, Roxanne Smith,Chris Prayel.Sandra Inwood.Peggy Mannakee,Tony Ekins, Linda McCall, plus a guest artist.

The artists will take commissions at the exhibition.
