School given two gardening awards

Wrestlingworth Lower School recently won two gardening awards thanks to their hard work planting trees, maintaining a garden and learning all the ins and outs of gardening.

They did this with the help of teaching assistant Kim Knibbs who was ecstatic after seeing the hard work of the children pay off.

She said: “We have put a lot of work into this garden so we were deighted to find out we had been awarded!”

The school has received a Woodland Trust Gold Award and Royal Horticultural Society level five recognition.

To receive these awards the school has had to partake in a number of activities from visiting a woodland to recycling Christmas cards and harvesting fruit and vegetables.

Thepupils spend every third Friday afternoon in the garden.
