A look behind closed doors at The Lodge

THE RSPB will wind up its golden summer 50th anniversary celebrations with an inside look at The Lodge house.

On Sunday (September 25) visitors to the Sandy nature reserve can take a rare peek inside the old mansion and walk around the surrounding formal gardens.

RSPB members only are being given this rare peek at the headquarters. Local historians, Derek Niemann and Barry Groom, will be giving tours around the house, which is now used by RSPB staff.

Experts will be on hand to show everyone the trees and plants that fill the organic gardens at this time of year.

Visit from 10am. The last entrance and tour is at 3pm and doors close at 4pm.
