A quarter century wait for this party
Sandy Pre-school has been based at Sandye Place Academy for the last quarter of a century so celebrations were rife on Wednesday, October 3.
Pre-school leader, Sam Beldam, said: “We had a big tea party so some of the parents made cake and brought it in.

Following government guidelines, the children are usually allowed only a healthy snack so the cake was very welcome.
Sandy Pre-school was created when Sandy Sunshine and Sandy Sandpiper pre-schools merged in 2002.
Sandy Sunshine moved from the old St Swithun’s School to an old classroom at Sandye Place Academy in 1987.

Thirty children aged from two to five currently attend Sandy Pre-school.
The number has risen in recent years and there have been a number of improvements to the building and the outside play area.
