Affordable homes on Fairholme site

AN affordable housing scheme has been given the go ahead.

At its meeting on Wednesday (February 29) Central Beds Council’s development management committee granted permission for 19 homes to be built at the former Fairholme site off Fairfield Road in Biggleswade.

The application was submitted by Grand Union Housing Group, the parent company for Aragon Housing Association.

The site formerly held a sheltered housing scheme for older people.

Now it will contain nine two bedroom houses, eight three bedroom houses and two two bedroom flats.

Six of the properties will be shared ownership units while the rest will be rented. There will also be 43 parking spaces.
