They have raised two daughters but have been divorced for over 25 years and have never spent more than three days together during that time.

Matt, who lives in Potton, said: “The most challenging aspect of this whole adventure is that Sarah and myself have been divorced for over 25 years.

“This trip is going to need us to spend four months together pretty much 24 hours a day. What’s going to happen? Who knows!!”

The charities who will benefit from the fund raising are SOS Children’s Villages, Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice, Motor Neurone Disease, Make A Wish Foundation, Anthony Nolan Trust, East Anglia Air Ambulance, Lotus Children’s Centre Mongolia, MacMillan Cancer Support, Diabetes UK, Save the Children, Pancreatic Cancer UK, Help the Heroes, The Nicola Emmerson Trust, Cancer Research UK and Cool Earth.
