Anne’s 12 hour exercisathon

A fitness instructor will be testing her body to the limit with a 12 hour exercisathon.

Anne Jordan, who runs The Barns Fitness Studios in Potton, will run, ride and row from 6am to 6pm on Saturday, October 27.

She hopes to raise as much money as possible for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Anne said: “I’m actually on a rowing machine, a bike and a treadmill. I’m alternating between the three with no breaks. It seemed like a good idea at the time!

“I think the East Anglian Air Ambulance is a really good charity. It’s local and they don’t get any money from the government. I’m hoping to get over £1,000. That is my goal and hopefully it’ll be a bit more.”

The fitness studio will also be running classes from 6am to 6pm and Anne hopes that as many people as possible will join her during the day –although they do not have to stay for 12 hours!

Some of the local male rugby club players will wear dresses and complete challenges at the fitness studios to add to the entertainment.

Anne said: “I’ve raised money before for charity with marathons, parachute jumps and abseiling but I finished them all in under 12 hours! This is more endurance.

“I’ve been trying to build up the stamina. The longest I’ve done is about five hours and I’m not doing any longer before the day.”

Hour long classes on the Saturday begin with tai chi at 6am. Challenge one is at 7am, pilates at 9am, circuits at 9am, challenge two at 10am and step/cardio at 11am.

Body balance is at noon, then challenge three at 1pm, zumba at 2pm, circuits at 3pm, kettlebells at 4pm and challenge four at 5pm.

Anybody coming along for a class during the day can join Anne for a glass of wine in the adjacent Coach House afterwards, courtesy of The Barns. It will also be the studios’ one year anniversary.
