Apple day was juice the ticket

Delicious juice was quaffed at an apple day.

The now annual event in Potton took place on Sunday. Sally Wileman, one of the organisers, said: “Despite a small harvest from trees in Potton, due to a late frost and poor pollination, there was plenty of fruit to press and families took home bottles of delicious fresh juice in exchange for their apples.”

There was also a display for the popular prospective orchard, which would be on the new development off Biggleswade Road.

If it goes ahead it will be planted with Bedfordshire varieties of apples such as the Duchess of Bedford and the September Beauty. The exact model of orchard will be decided through further consultation.
