Computer giant Apple has announced a voluntary recall of millions of its two-prong AC wall plugs after incidents of them causing electric shocks.

The two prong Apple AC wall plug adapters came with Macs and other iOS devices sold in Continental Europe as well as Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Argentina and Brazil, between 2003 and 2015 and were included in the Apple World Travel Adapter kit.

It does not affect plugs for:the UK or USA.

Apple said that customer safety was its “top priority”, and following 12 known incidents had asked customers to stop using the plugs.

The company are offering free exchanges to affected users, who can exchange their plug at their local Apple store or request a replacement via the website.
