Art club’s stately home themed exhibition

Artists are displaying their work in a country house.

Sandy Art Group’s exhibition began on Saturday and there is still time to stop by at Moggerhanger Park’s tearoom.

The 25 strong group meets on a weekly basis and is tutored by established artist, Jean Picton.

Jean said: “All the paintings are based on Moggerhanger Park, ranging from representational scenes of the house through to really way out art. One lady took a Google image of Moggerhanger and painted an abstract outline.”

Several paintings have already been sold and staff at the venue are so impressed that they have invited the group back next year.

The venue is also considering making a calendar of the paintings.

The exhibition continues today (Friday) and tomorrow from 10am to 4pm on both days.

The group meets each Monday from 10am to 1pm at Sandy Roundabout Club and no experience is necessary. For more details call Jean on 01767 680664.
