Several companies have sponsored a chairman’s new awards.

Councillor Caroline Maudlin, chair of Central Beds Council, has created the You Make The Difference Awards, which will be held in October.

They will celebrate the people who have made a positive difference to the lives of people with cancer.

Biffa, the waste management company, has sponsored the awards for £2,000 and Stevenage Leisure, which runs the sports centres in Biggleswade and Sandy, also gave £2,000.

Most Popular

Virgin, for which Ms Maudlin works, gave £1,000 and Tesco gave £250.

HR company Penna gave £200, as did Parrish’s Farm in Chicksands.
