Back to Tudor times at this historical costume exhibition

ANYONE stepping down to stone dovecote and stables on Sunday would have seen an array of Tudor youngsters.

The Tudor costume exhibition at the National Trust property in Willington was a collaboration between the Bedford National Trust Association, the Willington Local History Group and residents.

There were displays about clothes from different levels of society, with a particular focus on hats. This was because John Goswick, who owned the buildings in Tudor times, imported hats from the continent.

Children were able to dress up in authentic outfits.

Organiser, Dorothy Jamieson, said: “People really showed a lot of interest in the display.

“I’m hoping it will be repeated over the year.”
