Banging the drum for Kenyan link

Middle school students tried their hand at African drumming with a special visitor.

Henlow Academy is linked to Utange Baptist Primary School in Kenya. The British Council paid for school manager Pastor John Kahindi to spend the week in Henlow. Whilst there he taught them the techniques behind African drumming.

The pupils also set up a Skype link to the Kenyan school to tell each other jokes for Comic Relief.

Before the day Caroline Coster, who began the Kenyan link, said: “Technology being so advanced means that we are able to link up with Kenya on Comic Relief day. The pupils are writing jokes to share with each other and they will be explaining why they are wearing red noses.”
