Better website on the cards for Sandy

RESIDENTS and visitors to one Chronicle Country town should soon have a better online gateway to their community.

Councillors discussed upgrading the existing Sandy Town Council website at their meeting on Monday (August 15). The current site is 10 years old and poorly used.

Councillors agreed that features to prioritise will be a calendar with details of upcoming events, an e-newsletter delivery system for subscribers and a search facility.

Also of importance will be a statistical reporting tracking system that will count how many people visit the site and certain pages so that the town council knows how successful it is.

Councillor Nigel Aldis said: “I think we are all agreed that the website now looks very dated and tired. We need to refresh it, make it contain a lot more information than it does currently and make it easier for people to navigate their way around it.”

A final decision will be made at a meeting of the full council.
