Budding architects and design enthusiasts at lower school

YOUNGSTERS at a lower school were given the opportunity to display their technological skills in a competition.

The Key Stage Two children at Maple Tree Lower in Sandy took part in the 2012 K’NEXpert Classroom Challenge on Tuesday and Wednesday (February 28 and 29).

K’NEX is a series of plastic rods, wheels and joining sections, which can be used to create practically anything depending on the skill of the child.

The pupils were split into three groups and within each group they worked in pairs to fulfil a specific design brief.

Many schools across the country are taking part and the winners from each school will go on to compete in the regional finals and maybe even the nationals.
