Bedfordshire Police is investigating the burglaries in Gravenhurst and Harlington.

Detectives do not know whether the crimes are linked.

The first burglary took place overnight between Monday (April 1) and Tuesday (April 2) at a house in Barton Road, Gravenhurst, while the homeowners were away.

The offenders used a ladder to climb up to the first floor before smashing a bedroom window with a rock.

Once inside, they carried out a search of the house before stealing a 50 inch television, a PlayStation 3 and a quantity of jewellery. They then left the property through the front door.

Sometime between midnight and 7.35am on Wednesday (April 3) another burglary took place when offenders entered the rear garden of a house in Church Road, Harlington, before forcing open a small kitchen window.

The offenders then reached inside and stole a Prada handbag which contained cash, bank cards and earrings.

The offenders also took an Easter egg which was on the kitchen worktop before leaving the property.

A second burglary took place in Gravenhurst, also on Wednesday, this time in Orchard Close.

Sometime between 5am and 1pm the offenders forced open a downstairs window before entering the property and stealing a number of items of jewellery.

Detective constable Darren Armitage, who is investigating the three burglaries, is keen to hear from anyone who was in any of the areas mentioned during the times stated and may have seen anything suspicious.
