Numerous items were taken including the wedding and engagement rings, another white gold and diamond ring, diamond earrings, plus cash, two laptops and computer games.

Officers from Bedfordshire Police have carried out extensive house to house enquiries and they have established that there were at least two vehicles seen in the area between those times. One was a blue car and the other was a white box van. A man with a clipboard was also seen walking around in the street.

Detective constable Lisa Whitson said: “These vehicles and the man with the clipboard may have nothing at all to do with the burglary but we’d like to trace them to eliminate them from the enquiry – and also they may have seen other people or vehicles which could have been involved.

“We’d like to hear from them as soon as we can and of course from anyone else who may be able to help with information. A lot of sentimental items have been taken and we would like to reunite those items with their owner.
