The emergency services were called to the village’s main road at 3.55pm.

Police closed the road to ensure traffic safety because electricity cables had fallen down on to the wet ground. The electricity was turned off.

The fire service arrived by 4.15pm and the electricity company, EDF, were on the scene by 4.45pm.

Central Beds Council’s highways department took over the road closure and it was reopened at 2.30am today (Monday). The road was gritted at 2.50am.
