Carnival cash is now up for grabs

Thousands of pounds were raised at this year’s summer carnival extravaganza, both from collections along the parade and the numerous fun-packed events in the busy programme.

Now the carnival committee is looking to distribute the proceeds to local worthy causes and is inviting voluntary and charitable groups to apply for a slice of the carnival cash that would give them a helping hand.

Priority will be given to organisations that are based in Biggleswade and those that supported this year’s carnival.

If you would like to apply for a cash boost on behalf of your club or organisation, send your applications in writing to Biggleswade Carnival Grants 2011, c/o Secretary, 46 Festival Road, Potton, Bedfordshire, SG19 2QN.

The closing date for applications to be received is Friday, September 30.
