But there’s plenty more besides with a host of special activities beginning with a fun quiz - Whimsical Quizzical, back for a second year.

It’s a quiz - but probably not one as you know it, with the emphasis on fun and there are prizes to be won. It is hosted and sponsored by landlords Chris and Jan at the Gardeners Arms pub in Potton Road on Saturday, June 6. Entry is £2 per person, starting at 8pm.

The Darts Night, sponsored by PSP Electrical Services Ltd, is at the Working Men’s Club in Church Street on Monday, June 8 from 8.30pm.

Entry costs just £6 for a team of two. For details and to book your place call Bob Tuthill on 01767 682111 or email [email protected]

The Gardeners Arms is once again home to the Race Night so if you fancy a flutter pop along from 7.30pm on Saturday, June 13.

The Duck Race is one of the carnival’s most popular activities for families. The fun afternoon is held at the Dan Albone car park by the River Ivel on Sunday, June 14 and is sponsored by Henlow Building Supplies. Simply buy a plastic duck - and if it paddles the course along the river the fastest you win cash prizes!

There is lots more going on including stalls, games, a barbecue and mini disco. Ducks cost £1 and they are on sale from the carnival stall in Biggleswade Market Square on Saturday mornings in June - as well as on the day from 12.30pm.

The Quiz Night for teams of up to six is at the Working Men’s Club on Monday, June 15. Book your team in now by calling Kevin on 01767 223098.

It’s back to the club on Tuesday, June 16 for the Bingo Night, sponsored by Jewers Doors. It costs £1 per book and there’s a £100 jackpot to be won! Simply turn up from 7.30pm, with eyes down at 7.45pm.

The carnival comes to a close on Sunday, June 21 with the Children’s Disco, sponsored by MAR Total Maintenance. It’s open to children aged 3 to 13 at the Working Men’s Club between 3pm and 5pm.
