Children to zip along and play

A ZIP wire has been installed at a playground.

It was put into place at the Riverside Playing Field in Stotfold on Monday, August 1.

Twenty five children and their families turned up for the official opening as well as town councillors and Stotfold Town Council staff. Mayor Brian Collier invited eight-year-old Kieran Perkins to be the first person to use the zip wire.

The council’s recent consultations had revealed a need for more play equipment and a preference for a zip wire. It was paid for using a Section 106 developer contribution and council reserves. The council hopes to provide more equipment in the future.
