Choir’s world premiere date
And now the Beacon Community Choir is about to join that illustrious band by performing a suite of songs composed especially for them by Oscar-nominated John, who lives in Ivinghoe Aston and sings with the choir when he can.
His new work is a suite of nine choral pieces, and accompanying orchestral score, to commemorate the Ivinghoe-based choir’s fifth anniversary.

Hide AdThe world premiere will be on Saturday, April 20 at the village’s St Mary the Virgin church, from 7.30pm, when the choir will be conducted by their professional director Judith Sheridan.
Judith, an opera singer, singing teacher and musical coach, said: “I’d always wanted a major work to mark the milestone of the fifth birthday. John was the obvious choice – he’s a composer of such incredible stature and versatility
“I had absolutely no idea of what style of music would come out, but I knew it would be good.
“Now I’ve heard it, it’s wonderful – I fall in love with each piece as I do it.”
