Christmas officially arrives at Jordans Mill this weekend as it hosts its first Christmas Craft Fayre offering a wide range of crafts and gifts perfect for Christmas.

Taking place on November 22 and November 23, the Craft Fayre will feature stalls offering unusual and locally-sourced goods as well as tastings and demonstrations, providing the ideal opportunity to start Christmas shopping and really get in to the festive spirit.

Bespoke pictures, jewellery, home-made chocolates, locally-made chutneys and pickles, handmade bags and portraits from wildlife photographer Chris Gomersall are just some of what will be on offer, as well as delicious fayre made on the premises by Jordans Mill’s very own chefs including bread, Christmas cupcakes, jams, preserves, biscuits, Christmas cake and Christmas decorations.

Throughout the weekend the Mill Gardens, Mill Store and Riverside Café serving its usual range of delicious food and drinks will be open as usual.

The Christmas Craft Fayre marks the first event in Jordans Mill’s Christmas events calendar. From December 1, the Riverside Café will serve three-course Christmas lunches and on the December 6 and December 16 two local singing groups will sing all the favourite carols to spread a little festive cheer.

And from now right up until the big day shoppers can pick up ready-mixed bags of juicy raisins and mixed peel from the Mill Store, plus a free recipe card and all the other ingredients you need to bake the perfect Christmas cake.

Jordans Mill opened to the public in April 2013, having transformed from a historic working Mill into the heritage attraction it is today.

Bill Jordan said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming some fantastic local businesses to Jordans Mill this weekend as part of our first Christmas Craft Fayre.

“We’re fully committed to supporting the local business community and we also want to provide our loyal and new customers with a carefully-chosen range of crafts and gifts so they can choose something a little different this Christmas.

“We hope to run another Craft Fayre in the Spring if our Christmas Fayre is a success, and we look forward to opening the doors on Saturday morning and welcoming lots of people into Jordans Mill for this, our first Christmas Fayre.”

The Jordans Mill Christmas Craft Fayre is open between 10am and 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
