Continental market days

A continental market be held in Sandy on Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13.

It has been organised by Sandy Town Team and will be in Sandy Car Park from 9am to 5pm.

The market will have the sights and flavours of the best foods from around Europe.

You will be able to sample saucisson from the Auvergne, French cheeses, Spanish paella, Greek olives, tapenades, dried nuts and fruit, Turkish sweets and pastries, Italian cakes and biscuits and traditional Italian soft nougat.

The bakery stall will have a huge selection of breads. Gifts will be on sale as well including hand crafted wooden toys and roses, artisan pottery and Spanish crafts.

You can also stock up on French country wines; red, white and rosé.

Phillip Wingfield, co-chair of Sandy Town Team, said: “This traditional gourmet market is a free, entertaining, colourful, enchanting and original event.

The continental market is a new development for Sandy Town Team. Members have been working with Sandy Town Council to bring new life and vitality to the town’s markets.
