The occasion was marked in the Town Council offices last week when tributes were paid to Councillor Osborne by past and present councillors and staff.

On behalf of the community the current Town Mayor, Councillor Will Jackson, expressed sincere thanks for this loyal and committed service. The Mayor also recognised the contribution of Mrs Diane Osborne who has loyally supported her husband.

Sandy Town Clerk, Delia Shephard, said: “Councillor Osborne will have spent a minimum of 1,200 hours in formal meetings and his total hours in this unpaid, volunteer role will amount to thousands more. It’s a huge sacrifice.”
