Cramped conditions will soon be history
Macmillan Cancer Support is raising £1.5m to help finance a new cancer unit at Lister Hospital.
Biggleswade’s Mark Jones, senior charge nurse in the Forster Suite, which is used for cancer patients, said: “Although we do everything we can to improve patients’ experiences, the one thing that lets us down is the space.

“We no longer have offices or separate staff toilets; we have used the space for patient areas.
“This is why I can’t wait to have a modern, state-of-the-art unit so we can give our patients even more facilities to improve every aspect of their treatment.”
The new unit will make a big difference to his working life and to the patients’ wellbeing.
