Appeal as woman attacked with metal pole

A woman was hit on the head by a female attacker as she walked near Biggleswade train station on Good Friday.

Police are appealing for information following the assault in The Dells, Biggleswade.

Between 5.30am and 6am, the victim was walking along the short alleyway near Biggleswade train station, when she was struck from behind with what is believed to be a metal pole.

The offender is described as female and of stocky build with long dark hair.

PC Lindsey Cook, investigating, said: “This is a nasty attack and it’s vital we find the person responsible. If anyone knows who that is, I would urge them to get in touch with any information they have. Similarly, if anyone was in the area around the train station at the time of the offence and saw anything suspicious, it’s really important that they come forward.”
