A 29-years-old Biggleswade man was fined a total of £105 after pleading guilty to assaulting a woman in Langford at Luton Magistrates Court last Wednesday.

Michael William Lawman of Drove Road, Biggleswade was conditionally discharged for 12 months after admitting assaulting the woman by beating her.

He was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £20 and to pay court costs of £85.

>Jack Patrickson aged 25, of Laburnum Grove, St Albans, pleaded guilty to speeding when he was caught doing 71mph in a 60mph stretch on the A1 at Lower Caldecote and was fined £65 with £105 costs and three points on his licence.

> Marc James Elgar aged 37 of The Grange, Southfields, was fined a total of £404 for speeding on Bedford Road in Lower Stondon in April last year.

The case was proved in his absence.

He also received four points on his licence.

>Mrs Sarah Shalom of The Pastures, Totteridge, London, aged 38, was fined a total of £252 with costs after being caught speeding on the A1 at Lower Caldecote on September 5 last year.

She pleaded guilty to driving at 72mph in a 60mph zone, and received three penalty points on her licence.

>Mr Radek Vasko of Park Lane, Peterborough, was fined a total of £811 with costs after failing to provide the identification of a driver of a car caught allegedly speeding in Beeston.

A charge of speeding was withdrawn.

He was given six points on his licence after the case was proved in his absence.

>Robin Riley of Kilby Road, Stevenage, aged 38, was fined a total of £185 with costs after pleading guilty to speeding on the A1 at Lower Caldecote on January 18 last year.

He was caught doing 71mph in a 6pmph zone and then 76mph in a 50mph zone.

He received six points on his licence.

> A Potton woman was disqualified from driving after being found guilty in her absence of having three youngchildren in the back of her car who were not strapped in.

Mrs Louise Sharland, aged 28 of Common Road, Potton Caravan Site, also drove a car in Church Road, Sutton, not in accordance with her licence, and without insurance.

She has been disqualified from driving for six months and fined a total of £811 with costs.

>Thomas Wilkins of High Street, Shefford, aged 30, pleaded guilty to driving a car while unfit through drugs, in High Street, Shefford, on March 10 this year.

He was disqualified from driving for 24 months and fined a total of £265 with costs.

>A woman and a girl have been found guilty of stealing a purse in Biggleswade on June 4 this year.

Dinaida Stankeviciute aged 32 of no fixed abode, and a 16 year old girl pleaded guilty to the theft of the purse and its contents, valued at £100.

Staneviciute also pleaded duilty to possessing a bladed pocket knife in Sutton on the same day.

She was fined a total of £200 and sent to prison for six weeks.

The minor, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to the theft of the purse and was fined a total of £15.

>Mrs Rachel Byrne aged 36, of Barn Field Close, Biggleswade, was fined a total of £166 with costs after pleading guilty to speeding at Moggerhanger on November 11 last year

She also received three points on her licence.

>Simon Comber aged 33 of Lady Way, Eaton Socon, pleaded guilty to speeding in Moggerhanger on November 11 last year.

He was fined a total of £195, with costs and was issued with three points on his driving licence.

>Mrs Heather Derry-Welch aged 62 of Melfort Drive, Bletchley, was fined a total of £567 with costs after pleading guilty to speeding in Lower Caldecote on December 2, 2015.

The court heard she had been doing 86mph in a 60mph zone on the A1.

She also received five points on her driving licence.

>Daniel King, aged 28, of St Neots Road, Sandy, was fined a total of £327 with costs after the case was proved that he had been speeding on the A6 at Milton Ernest, Bedford, on November 14 last year

He also received three points on his driving licence.

> Mr Gursharan Shehri of Sheridan Road, Peterborough, aged 36 was fined a total of £327 with costs after it was proved before magistrates that he had been speeding on the A1 northbound at Beeston on November 14 last year.

Three points were added to his licence.
