Dad seeks donations of items for youngsters in Kenya

A Chronicle Country man is seeking donations as he prepares for a charity trip to Africa.

Luke Newman of Biggleswade will be travelling to Kenya with his father Steve and brother Paul in May.

He will be doing teaching and community work in the city of Nakuru, helping with subjects like maths, English and music and coaching youngsters who may have HIV/AIDS or who are orphaned.

Luke, of Planets Way is now asking for donations of items that he can take with him to give to youngsters while he is there.

He said: “I would like to take prescription glasses, flip flops, pencils and pens, stationary, trainers,
football kits and baby grows.”

All of the items will be given to students at St. Trizah School in the city.

Father-of-three Luke will spend 11 days in Nakura.

He has been collecting a variety of celebrity memorabilia to sell so he can raise funds for the trip.
