Down on the farm with a crop circle beer

Ale aficionados flocked to a beer festival with a farming theme.

The Sir William Peel pub in Sandy High Street hosted the event from Thursday, April 14 to Sunday, April 17.

Publican Lindsey Hihir selected beers with farm related names for drinkers to enjoy. These included Grasshopper, Ploughman’s Bitter, Fruit Bat and Barnfield.

The scarecrows, pictured, were made by two of the pub’s regular customers.

Lindsey said: “It was a terrific festival and I was really pleased. The pub was packed.

“All of the ciders went really well as well as the Top Dog stout, Blackcurrant stout, Crop Circle beer and Mad Goose beer. But to be honest everything sold really well.

“There was such a wide range of different beers that there were a lot that people hadn’t tried before.

“Two were specially brewed so they were unique; Down on the Farm and Farmers’ Wellies.”

This was the pub’s third beer festival.
