Exhibition of work for this abstract artist

AN abstract artist is showing her work at an exhibition this month.

Deirdre Porter-Hanson, who lives in Cambridge Road in Sandy, will be joining forces with her friend, Gerry Ewens, from Clapham. They will be showing their work at the Eagle Gallery in Bedford.

Deirdre, 49, has been creating artwork all her life but her style has changed from figurative to abstract over the years.

She said: “I have lived in Bedfordshire since 2000 and the works have been dictated by the Bedfordshire countryside.

“We used to live in Africa and I’ve always been inspired by the landscapes we’ve been in.”

The exhibition will run from Saturday, October 15 to Saturday, October 22, excepting the Sunday.

The gallery, located in Castle Road in Bedford, is open from 10am to 5.30pm.
