Fashion show to fundraise for vital medical research to help children

The Biggleswade Action Medical Research Committee has teamed up with Rotary Club of Biggleswade Ivel for the show on Friday, April 8, in support of children’s charity Action Medical Research.

The season’s hottest looks from M&Co in Biggleswade will be hitting the catwalk at the Weatherley Centre on Eagle Farm Road to raise funds for sick and disabled babies and children.

With the help of its supporters, Action Medical Research has played a significant role in many medical breakthroughs for over 60 years, starting with the development of the first UK polio vaccines.

It is currently funding research into meningitis, Down syndrome, epilepsy and premature birth, as well as some rare and distressing conditions that severely affect children.

The show starts at 7pm and tickets are £8, which includes a glass of wine on arrival and canapes during the interval.

Guests will also receive a 10 per cent discount voucher for use at the Biggleswade branch of M&Co.

Action Medical Research are currently funding more than 75 projects at leading hospitals, universities and specialist centres across the UK.

The charity believes that the diseases that devastate the lives of so many children can be beaten and has been funding medical breakthroughs since it was formed in 1952.

These major breakthroughs include the first polio vaccines in the UK, ultrasound in pregnancy and the rubella vaccine – helping to save thousands of children’s lives and change many more.
