Fishing for a new stall at market

A MARKET has been given a boost with the addition of a new stall.

The fresh fish and seafood stall will give passers-by another reason to visit Sandy’s market, which has been dwindling of recent years.

Fishmonger, Steve Willis, is now selling his wares at the Friday market in Sandy Car Park each week. The Northamptonshire based former salesman also runs a fish delivery service, Fresh Fish To Go, around Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire.

Steve said: “A friend said to me ‘why don’t you go to Sandy market to try it?’

“People said a fish man used to be here but hasn’t been here for a long time. I’m coming every Friday.”

Customers can buy a large range of fish at the stall including red snapper, Dover sole, lemon sole, cod, haddock and salmon.
