Friends needed for Green Wheel project
Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity (BRCC) is hoping to set up the Friends of Biggleswade Green Wheel with local volunteers who will help to look after and further enhance the wheel.
Opportunities to assist include practical tasks like tree and hedge planting; or ‘adopting’ a section of the wheel as a warden – reporting any problems around the route.

Hide AdThe Green Wheel is a walking and cycling route around the town, passing through areas of landscape, heritage and wildlife interest. Spokes will lead from the hub of the town to the wheel that surrounds it.
The route has been developed by BRCC and central Beds Council in partnership with Biggleswade Town Council and local landowners.
BRCC is holding a Friends of Biggleswade Green Wheel Information Evening on Thursday, January 8. It will take place at 7.45pm for 8pm, in the function room at the Stratton House Hotel in Biggleswade.
A presentation about the Green Wheel and the Friends group will be given, followed by the chance to discuss various volunteering opportunities over some nibbles.
