Fundraisers reach £30k milestone in Angela’s research appeal
Angela was just 30 when she was diagnosed with a rare strain of ovarian cancer, and along with parents Mike and Linda and brother Mark, was shocked to hear little was known about the strain.
The Biggleswade woman, who died in 2013 just six months after the discovery, started raising money for the Eve Appeal, which works towards achieving better detection and treatment of gynaecological cancers, and her family have continued the fundraising.

The money being raised will go to the charity but will in turn be used to fund research in Europe into small cell ovarian cancer and the other small cell gynaecological cancers.
The Butchers have been inspired by the support they have received from oncologists, especially at University College Hospital (UCHL) in London.
At the party on Saturday, June 6, Mike made a moving speech about the fundraising and the generosity of supporters.

The plaque will be put on the wall in the laboratory at the UCHL where research will be carried out, due to start in the autumn.
