Gamlingay Library up for £2,000 grant

A LIBRARY has been short-listed to the final five organisations in a regional competition.

Gamlingay Community Library is in contention for a £2,000 prize offered by the Co-op Big Community Vote – money that would give everyone in Gamlingay the chance to use a computer.

Over the past 12 months the library, which is primarily run by volunteers, has been busy raising money for a move to its new site at Gamlingay Eco Hub and has so far been successful in securing donations and grants totalling over £8,000.

But the library is still in need of further funding and, if successful in the competition, will spend the £2,000 award on at least four public access computers.
