Has Ellie the dog been stolen?

A FAMILY now believe that their missing dog has been stolen.

West Highland Terrier, Ellie, went missing on Biggleswade Common last Tuesday (June 28).

Owner, Rick Robinson, said that a friend saw a woman picking up a similar dog at about 11am and putting it into a blue car near the American Golf Course.

He said: “Ellie had been a bit jumpy, I think because of the massive storm, and she just bolted. She was picked up in a plastic sheet and bundled into the car.

“I’m sure it was my dog – there aren’t that many around and I can’t imagine it would be anybody else’s.

“It looks like however’s got her isn’t going to turn her in.

“I want to think of human nature being quite decent but she hasn’t been taken anywhere between Huntingdon and East Hertfordshire. She’s microchipped and she’s listed as missing.”

He added that Ellie had a red collar on so obviously belonged to someone and was in a good, well cared for condition.

Rick, who lives with his partner, their three children and Ellie’s mother, Daisy, in The Baulk in Biggleswade, has rung the vets and animal shelters in the local and wider area but nobody has handed in the year old terrier.

He asks that anyone with definite or possible information calls him or his partner, Becky Kerfoot, on 01767 223056.
