Hats, pots and limited edition art at RSPB fair

The guest exhibition by members of Artists’ Network Bedfordshire will feature at the RSPB’s spring fair on Sunday, June 1.

Those taking part include Ruth Gurney of Biggleswade whose work reflects her rural upbringing and her love of flora and fauna.

She is principally showing limited edition, hand coloured woodcuts and linocuts of garden and wild birds at this exhibition.

Ruth’s work is wide ranging, and often haunting and delicate, drawing on folklore and rural traditions for inspiration.

A couture milliner, Henlow’s Bea Brown comes from a fine art background. She trained in millinery in both Luton and London and works independently producing bespoke hats and headpieces to commission.

Anja Penger-Onyett of Shefford started working with ceramics over 25 years ago by attending ceramic courses and evening classes. Since 2008 she has worked as a full time potter.

She makes bowls, vases and plates as well as decorative items.

The fair starts at 10am at The Lodge nature reserve in Sandy. There will be other crafts stalls and attractions.
