Head pays tribute to William Stringer

A headteacher has paid tribute to teenager, William Stringer, who tragically died on Friday evening.

Rob Watson, head of Stratton Upper School, described the 15-year-old as a hard working student who was “very mature beyond his years.”

He said: “He had an absolute passion for cars and his ambition was to be a mechanic so he was specialising in science and technology in his GCSEs.

“Our thoughts at the moment are very much with his family and his many friends and we will be offering support to students when they come back to school.”

William drowned in the River Ivel at the weir in Biggleswade, close to Mill Lane on Friday evening (August 24).
