The company provides social rented housing in Biggleswade, Sandy, Potton, Stotfold, Bedford and the surrounding areas.

On Wednesday, February 26 tenants looking to find a new affordable home will have the opportunity to discuss their options for moving to a bigger or smaller property.

The free drop in event is open to existing bpha residents and people currently living in homes owned by other local housing groups.

It will be at Bedford Corn Exchange between 10am and 2pm.

A team of experts will be on hand to offer home exchange advice. Tenants may be looking to downsize since the introduction of the bedroom tax, which cuts housing benefit for people with a spare room.

Kevin Bolt, interim CEO of bpha, said: “We are encouraging residents to view home exchange as an affordable and realistic option to meet their housing needs.

“A mutual exchange can take as little as six weeks and our team can provide support and guidance throughout the process.”
