Despite local opposition since 2007 the build is progressing and the once beautiful site is being destroyed. say residents.

Wendy and Ray Rapacchi will soon have two windows peering into their own bedroom, to be built just a car’s length from their bed.

Mrs Rapacchi said: “The new build bedroom will be nearer to our bed than my own daughter’s bedroom in our own home!”

An offer to move the
windows to the other side of the building was welcomed by Wendy and Ray but this change was never registered with Central Beds Planners.

North Herts Homes (NHH), who are in charge of the development, said: “We have tried to respond fully to the issues that Mr and Mrs Rapacchi have raised with us since we took ownership of the site in Henlow.

“In particular we have
investigated their claims that our new development breaches their Right to Light.

“We are satisfied we have not breached any Right to Light, and have previously
advised them of this.”

In an effort to break the deadlock North Herts Homes offered £3,000 to Wendy and Ray to drop any claim to privacy and to their Right of Light.

However NHH say no
response was received adding: “We are at a loss as to how we can respond to Mr and Mrs
Rapacchi when they continue to avoid communicating with the relevant people.”
