Improved venue is hall right with this village!

A refurbished village hall will be reopened at a special open day on Saturday (April 13).

More than £20,000 has been spent on improvements at Moggerhanger Village Hall which will be unveiled at the venue from 3.30pm onwards.

Moggerhanger Parish Council, the hall trustees and the Waste Recycling Environmental Limited (WREN) body have worked together on the project.

Non profit-making organisation WREN supplied a £19,800 grant to make the project a reality.

Work on the refurbishment started last year.

The refit includes new steps, walkways and handrails, lighting, kitchen facilities and a new ceiling.

There will be refreshments on offer, while villagers and hall users can talk to the trustees about the venue and the new improvements.

Treasurer Carolyn Lister said: “The hall is used by a wide variety of community groups and organisations and is of course always available for people to hire.

“Two years ago we spoke to hall users and people in the village about what they would like to see done in terms of improvements. We are very pleased with the refurbishment.”
