POWERHOUSE rhythms and music with true drive will be on the musical agenda in Arlesey tomorrow night (Saturday, July 16).

Terry Chapman, Johnnie Howman and Ian Gunn, who are better known as Left Hand Drive, will be performing at The White Horse pub.

The three, who play covers from the likes of Deep Purple, Free and Primal Scream are regulars on the gig circuit in Chronicle Country and a night of quality riffs is guaranteed.

Staying on the rock covers theme, another familiar and popular figure on the Bedfordshire scene, Paul Adams, will be on the bill at The Crown in Biggleswade, also tomorrow.

Playing classic rock, electric or acoustic, Paul pays tribute to acts and artists like Oasis, Jimi Hendrix, Queen and Bon Jovi.

Also in Biggleswade tomorrow night, The Lurcher Band are set to bring a wide range of sounds to the ears of punters at The Rose pub.

The three-piece covers band plays a wide range of different genres, from soul and blues to rock and roll.

Pub goers can expect to hear everything from timeless favourites to more contemporary numbers.

Celebrations will be afoot at The Ivy Leaf Club in Langford, meanwhile, when the venue marks its 90th anniversary tomorrow.

There will be a meal to enjoy while the five-strong Huggy Flares band lay on the music.

One of the region’s funkiest and fun soul and disco bands will be performing Motown classics from the 1960s and funk and disco favourites from the 1970s, with occasional more recent tracks thrown in for good measure.

Expect sparkly shirts, a packed dancefloor and a fun night for all concerned.

Performers and Pints promoter and musician Will Mak, meanwhile, will be playing at Potton and District Club for the first time, also tomorrow.

Over in Stotfold tonight (Friday, July 15) Uche Eke, who used to sing with Hot Chocolate and The Drifters will be singing to punters at The Fox and Duck.

Uche is an internationally renowned performer who plays soul classics and swing favourites from artists like Barry White, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, George Benson and Nat King Cole.

Singer Yvette Nowlan will also be performing at Stotfold Conservative Club tomorrow.

Tomorrow night will also give music fans the chance to join Hammie, Geoff and Pottsy for a wonderful evening of 1970s soul and Motown.

From 8pm until 2am Stewartby Sports and Social Club will come alive with the sound of all things retro and brilliant. Tickets cost £5 on the door.

Ska fans can also put on their baggy trousers and step back in time to enjoy a Madness tribute evening at Wyboston Lakes.

Ultimate Madness will pay tribute to the 1980s British ska band and transport fans back to the good old days on Friday, July 29.

The fancy dress event will also feature a disco so that music lovers can party the night away. Tickets are for over 18s only and the evening begins at 7.30pm and ends at 1am.
