Latest digital effects meet the dinosaurs in visit to a school

THE very latest technology was used by young dinosaur lovers.

Pupils in the Foundation Stage at Shefford Lower School were visited by the Science Dome company. As the name indicates, an inflatable dome was brought into the school hall.

Foundation leader, Lorraine Freeman, said: “It’s all based around dinosaurs and in the dome they experienced everything in 3D.

“They didn’t have to wear glasses though they did put them on at one point to make everything sharper.

“It was generated by a computer and beamed all around the dome rather than in front of them on a board.

“The children loved it and thought it was amazing. They couldn’t stop talking about it and they learnt a lot.

“And it consolidated a lot of what they have ever learnt.”

As well as the interest of seeing the dinosaurs going about their everyday lives all around them, the children were also taught the different names of the creatures and how they lived.
