And there will be plenty of fun for all the family, with a range of delicious traditional Christmas food, including wild boar, venison, mulled wine, crepes, a hog roast and, of course, roasted chestnuts.

Children will also be able to buy Christmas Stars, which will enable them to write a message to Santa to be hung on the town’s Christmas tree.

Other entertainment includes a Christmas market, a ‘best dressed window’ competition, entertainment on the stage from noon, fairground rides for the children, and a visit from Father Christmas. From 6pm there will be community carols and the lights switch on by the Carnival Court.
