When the scout group had camping equipment stolen during a break in, community minded members of the We Love Biggleswade Facebook Group rallied round and raised cash to help make up for the loss.

Now group members have taken it a step further and voted to create a 2016 calendar to raise even more money for the scouts.

Facebook page administrator, Alan Dansey, explained: “The idea started when members admired the wildlife photographs posted in the group by local photographer Nigel Nurse. In response to requests to make prints available, he offered to produce a We Love Biggleswade Calendar and donate the proceeds to a charity of the group’s choice. It is amazing to realise that all of the pictures were taken in and around Biggleswade.”

Sponsors contributing £10 will get a copy of the calendar, with an option to donate £50 and get a printed credit. If the £1,000 target is reached, the calendar will be printed and distributed.

The group could repeat the venture for another good cause if it proves successful.
